Customer Requirement
A smart pet tracking device manufacturer was looking for a compact and lightweight rechargeable battery for a GPS pet tracker. As the device was designed to be worn by pets, the battery needed to occupy minimal space and add as little weight as possible while providing sufficient energy for GPS positioning, wireless communication, and extended daily operation.
The battery also needed to be customized to fit the tracker's limited internal space, with appropriate electrical protection and a suitable connector and cable configuration for reliable integration into the compact device.
Our Solution
We developed a customized 3.7V lithium polymer battery specifically for the GPS pet tracker, based on the device's available internal space, power requirements, and integration constraints.
The solution features a 3.7V, 115mAh minimum / 125mAh typical capacity cell with a compact maximum cell size of 3.5 × 20.0 × 23.0 mm. The battery pack dimensions were optimized to 3.5 × 20.0 × 25.0 mm, with a lightweight design weighing approximately 4.0g.
For seamless integration into the tracker, we customized the battery with a Molex 78172-2P connector and UL3302 30AWG wire, together with a dedicated protection circuit using the S-8261DAA-M6T1U protection IC and 8205A MOSFET. The compact pouch-cell configuration and tailored pack design allowed the battery to fit within the limited housing space while providing the required energy and protection for reliable daily operation.

Project Result
The customized 352023 LiPo battery (3.7V, 115mAh minimum) successfully met the customer's requirements for a compact and lightweight GPS pet tracker. With a 115mAh minimum capacity and approximately 4.0g weight, the battery provided the required power for GPS positioning, wireless communication, and daily device operation while minimizing the overall weight of the tracker. The optimized battery dimensions, connector, and cable configuration enabled smooth integration into the compact tracker housing.
